Welcome to Biltcliffe.co.uk This site is for people who are related or interested in the name and its many variations. We hope to share some of the research that we have done into the past, and hopefully help others find their ancestors. It is as accurate as we can make it – but please let us know of any mistakes.
We limit the information we hold to people carrying the name and their spouses. Information about living people is only added with their consent. We have concentrated on West Yorkshire, but will extend work on Tyneside and South East England if we have the time and resources.

Continuing to Update and Grow

Thank you again to those who have sent us information or found the site useful. This has been included along with our own research to produce another of the semi-regular site updates. Another Site Update

15th October 2009

About time for another update to the website brings with it information from the 1911 census since it has become available since the last update. As ever we are grateful to the people who send us information - every little helps, so please do get in touch.

9th February 2009

A new year and a new update bringing the total number of people on the site to over the two thousand mark. The site has come a long way in the 7 years that it has been online, and this is partly due to the feedback we get. We've even managed this time to bring someone back from the dead when a mistake was pointed out to us!

An update at last!

23rd September 2008

A much delayed update has finally been made to the site. This includes feedback from various people who have sent us information. We seem to be quite useful, judging by the emails coming through the site.

This update has concentrated on year of death, particularly in the 20th century. The two thousand milestone for people on the web-site is getting nearer! We usually keep to the name and spouses but Kezia Frost just had to be added by a proud grandfather!

End of Another Year

29th December 2007

To finish the year there is another update the website bringing with it another hundred people and updates to those already on the site.

We are currently researching the Brearley family in the Penistone and surrounding areas of Yorkshire in the 1700 and 1800's, so if anyone has any information we would gratefully appreciate it.

Finally there have been some minor changes to the contacts page. This has been to prevent automated systems using the site to send us spam messages. We are grateful for all the feedback we recieve and new information that comes via the site.

It may have been a long time since the last update of the website, but that hasn't stopped people getting in touch with us and giving us more valuable information.
